NaPoWriMo 30/30 Challenge – Prompt Eleven

Sorry for the late posting on this! Got distracted by the day and Facebook! >_<

Reminder: I will be writing the poems and putting them into a book which I will divide the profits between Rachel’s campaign The Outlast Project and the local women’s shelter. I can tell that when I am finished writing all of these poems, that I will most likely rearrange the order that I put them in the book. The poem I ended up with for Prompt Nine feels like it would be better further along in this poetic narrative that I am making.

FYI, If you would like to pre-order this book, you can do so for $15 via PayPal to nmnance@gmail.com and please be sure to include your shipping address. THANK YOU!  And now for the prompt:

PROMPT ELEVEN: Who was your coldest night?

IF YOU ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE 30/30 THIS MONTH I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW ABOUT IT! LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS. IF YOU ARE SHARING YOUR POEMS, PLEASE PUT A LINK TO YOUR SITE OR BLOG! ^_^

  1. I remember you like yesterday, but I dare not speak your name. You left me cold, and all alone, and wondering if that was rape. I wouldn’t say you did your worst, but you were hardly at your best. Take it as I say it bitch. You failed every. single. test. You threw me out at 5 am, and went upon your way “to work” you said. I huffed, I puffed, but damn-it if I didn’t stay. For about a week we talked I’d say, off and on you know. You decided I was a tad too clingy, and I just had to go. I saw you three other times, following that shitty ass night. No it wasn’t fun you piece of shit. You didn’t even try. To be fair, I didn’t put forth much effort at that time. But I liked you, whether you knew it or not. The mistake was entirely mine. I didn’t know you’d use me, and toss me out like trash. Should have known by your talk, your walk, your smirk, I’d soon be in your past. You haunt me once in a while now; nothing like you did. I used to wake up in cold sweats. I wish I had just fucking hid. Going to you was stupid, and i’m not a stupid girl. I was stressed and depressed, not prepared for my tests. A freshman in college, new to my world. You took advantage of me at my lowest, you’d be lying to say otherwise. It’s ok now, I’ve finally forgiven you. I’ve moved on to less shitty, trashy guys. Now I have a new boyfriend. Does he drive me crazy, hell yes? But he loves me, that’s what’s most important. Also, he’s passed every one of my tests.
